We have had a great week here, fabulous apartment with everything we need, couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay - really comfortable here and close to everything. Have been to Heaven Beach which is just past Estepona - live music and great beach bar. Best family beach is Duquesa - lovely little port and nice family evening feel to it with lots of restaurants. Both pools are quiet and sometimes had the small pool to ourselves. Top temperature has been 34C. The water park at Algericas was great fun - really good for young children.

Had a great holiday, especially enjoyed the small pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time and the excellent weather. We visited Duquesa port and Sabanillas regularly for meals; our favourite restaurants were Miel in Sabanillas (great desserts) and Sisters tapas bar - great for lunch. We made day trips to Gibraltar, Ronda & Casares ­ all well worth a visit. The drive to Ronda via Casares and Gaucin gives fantastic views of the scenery. Ronda was very interesting and the favourite of all our days out, particularly the bullring. In Gibraltar we took a cable car up to the Rock and walked along the main street. Could have spent longer there as we didn’t see it all in a day, but the weather was extremely hot. This is our first family holiday in mainland Spain and we have thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have had a fantastic first experience of Spain. Our favourite day trip was to Ronda, not only the drive through the mountain scenery but Ronda itself was beautiful and atmospheric and felt like the “real” Spain. We also enjoyed our trip to Puerto Banus, a contrast to Ronda, it is all about the designer shops and huge yachts moored in the Marina, but it was great fun. Our favourite lunch by far was at the Venta Garcia, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very modern. Venta Coza was also very good with a more traditional feel. The kids enjoyed the beach at Duquesa, it is a little quieter than the others and lunch at Cubanga beach club was very good and plentiful. We were taken aback by the beauty of the mountain scenery and white washed villages we have discovered; we would love to return to explore some more.

Thank you for the safe return of the deposit. We had a very good journey both ways, from and to home - but we had no idea what was awaiting us when we opened the door to the Smithy on our arrival! What a wonderful dwelling and so beautifully equipped - and to top it all, the hamper full of goodies. We've never seen such a generous supply! Mind you, we were soon tucking in.

The location is spot on, with all the amenities so close at hand and walks from the doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but the time just went by too fast as it usually does. We only managed to fit in two cream teas, I put that down to bad planning!

The local information you left us to read was very helpful - giving us an insight into the local affairs of the community. The guide books and map were also very useful.

I have not been to Lynton since my childhood, so it was good to re-explore the area, especially to ride again on the cliff railway. We were surprised that such a small cinema was still up and running - we did go to see a film on one of the evenings.

This is our second visit to The Smithy and we will return again next year! We loved staying in the heart of Lynton tucked away down a little alley way. You have made the place so perfect and we did not want for anything. This time we returned to our favourite Lee Bay, just the other side of the Valley of the Rocks. Woody Bay at low tide is a must, but you have to be fit for the walk back up! An amazing walk is Hunters Inn to Martinhoe, with incredible views to see. Exford is a beautiful village in the heart of Exmoor and on our one and only rainy day we went to Lynton's tiny cinema tucked away by the tourist info!

The Smithy is the perfect location. We couldn't ask for anything better on our honeymoon. We have enjoyed good weather and spectacular walks to Watersmeet and the Valley of the Rocks. The new Mr & Mrs W will definitely come back to this romantic setting.
